14 Bolt Truss System

The GM corporate 14 bolt rear axle is synonymous with strength, reliability, and all around a great axle swap for oversize tires and severe off road abuse. In a market Filled to the brim with options to build a 4 link truss, Pinion skid, and Differential cover options we wanted to come in swinging. We feel like this setup is a home run! This kit like all of our kits is thought out with many options and intentions. It can be purchased in its entirety or just the basic truss. Here's the breakdown.
Truss: The basic truss is 1 piece formed from 1/4" A572 plate steel (much stronger than the basis A36 plate everyone else uses) with an additional 1/4" cover plate to reinforce the 4 link bracket. We then include 2 3/16 pass through gussets that remove any hope of twisting in the weakest location of every truss on either side of the differential below the upper link brackets. In addition to this, we have 4 "Truss Huts" half formed boxes. Which are our unique cross section design that once mocked up welds to the axle and then to the truss and then the truss to the axle making an unmatched rigidity across the axle as well as a pass through perfect for axle straps for towing retentions. We also include 2- 1/4" thick shock tabs that mount to the end of the truss just so you don't have to worry about how to get your coil-overs or shocks mounted at the widest point. Upper Link Mounts: These upper link mounts are designed to match the truss cover plate aesthetics and tie into our rear differential cover tie in bracket. Made from 5/16" thick A572 plate, and designed for the standard 2 5/8" width with a 9/16" through hole we intended for them to be abused so we built them for it. These can easily be drilled out to 5/8" or even 3/4" and still have enough meat for them to be plenty tough. Sale price: $32.50 add on as option.
Spine Truss: The real beauty of this kit shines when you add on the rear spine truss system. This 1/4" thick formed plate truss adds to the overall rigidity of the axle in length, while tying the differential cover to the truss and increasing strength against the "up and back" forces that can bend these axles. The cut-aways allow for this to nest beautifully into the Truss Huts and weld the system together even more. This system is designed for bouncing your rig! 12-1/2"-13x1 alloy flat head socket cap bolts retain the outers to the inner truss and allow for the cover to easily be removed for access to differential. The installer will weld in the 12 weld nuts to the inside of the outer wings. This is also designed to be able to manage the forces and give mounting location for rear steer systems, as well as air bump striking locations. Sale price: $219.50 add on as option.
Pinion Guard / Pinion Bridge: We cannot forget the front side of the differential where all the drive power comes from! Our 1/4" thick pinion guard and bridge can be purchase welded and powder coated or un-welded and bare steel. This setup guards the pinion flange from the rocks as well as ties to the front of the overall truss structure for even more rigidity. We Highly recommend this in the kit as the method to locate the truss on the axle as all parts align with the bridge bolted to the pinion. 3/8" Thick Differential cover and tie in bracket: Constructed out of 3/8" plate on the ring and cover, Fully robotically welded inside and out, and then machined on the face for a perfectly flat safe. We then machine all the holes and set countersinks for the 14 included m8x1.5 alloy flange bolts to beautifully fit into place. The 1/4"thick tie in bracket allows the cover to bolt to the truss as well and nest against the upper control arm brackets for additional rigidity. Three grade 8 1/2"-13x1 bolts and flange nuts are included with purchase. Please note, This part is cut long to allow for adjustment based on actual truss height per install.
